A NOTE FROM JAY KOWALSKY

The organizational changes within PSA/USAV are not only strategic but also very timely. Today’s integrators are challenged with extraordinary constraints and rapidly changing technology. It requires organizations to think differently about the technology use case and their ability to apply it to dynamic work environments.

Under Matt Barnette’s direction as CEO and with Patrick’s leadership as Vice President of USAV, this re-structure will be the foundation that enables the USAV members to navigate the next several years with confidence and purpose.

WESTMINSTER, Colo. – July 12, 2021PSA, the world’s largest systems integrator consortium, today announced a structure change among its executive leadership team affecting both PSA Security and USAV. PSA’s CEO Matt Barnette made the adjustments to reflect his belief that each team member’s role should be focused.

“We have an extremely talented team at PSA. Over the past six months, I have been evaluating the team structure to ensure we have our vital employees in the correct roles,” said Barnette. “After much consideration, I have made these changes that will help poise PSA for 2022 and beyond. I’m excited for the upcoming year and know this team can accomplish great things.”

PSA’s leadership team structure is as follows:

  • Matt Barnette, CEO

  • Ric McCullough, President

  • Steve King, CFO (retiring in September 2021)

  • Candice Aragon, Vice President of Marketing and Events

  • Anthony Berticelli, Vice President of Operations

  • Tim Brooks, Vice President of Sales

  • Carol Philp, Vice President of Accounting and Finance

  • Chris Salazar-Mangrum, Vice President of Technology Partners

  • Patrick Whipkey, Vice President of USAV

Brooks, previously responsible for sales and vendor management, will now focus efforts solely on sales; while Salazar-Mangrum, previously vice president of USAV, will now focus on technology partners for both PSA and USAV. This change also represents a promotion for Whipkey, formerly the director of USAV.

In addition to these leadership changes, PSA has also made a key hire in human resources with the addition of Cate Jenkins and has promoted PSA’s project manager, Katie Blough, to the role of customer success manager. These changes reflect the importance of relationships to PSA: both internally on employee wellbeing and externally on the experiences of members, owners and partners.

PSA and USAV Announces Commitment to Supporting and Promoting Online Safety and Privacy for Cybersecurity Awareness Month

PSA-News-Release-Header.png

WESTMINSTER, CO – October 1, 2020PSA, the world’s largest systems integrator consortium, and USAV, a division of PSA, today announced a commitment to supporting National Cybersecurity Awareness Month—held annually in October—by signing up as a Champions and joining a growing global effort to promote the awareness of online safety and privacy. The Cybersecurity Awareness Month Champions Program is a collaborative effort among businesses, government agencies, colleges and universities, associations, nonprofit organizations and individuals committed to this year’s Cybersecurity Awareness Month theme of ‘Do Your Part. #BeCyberSmart.’ The program aims to empower individuals and organizations to own their role in protecting their part of cyberspace.

“We are honored to do our part to spread awareness about the importance of protecting against theft or damage in the cyber world,” said Chris Salazar-Mangrum, Vice President of USAV. “With technology being interwoven into every aspect of our lives both professionally and personally, cyberseruity is crucial. Security breaches can be extremely disruptive, yet efforts to implement simple protections often get overlooked. Our hope is by joining this effort to develop awareness and help educate, USAV can be part of creating an interconnected world that will be safter and more resilient for everyone.”

The overarching message of this year’s theme, ‘If you Connect it, Protect it,’ dives into the importance of keeping connected devices safe and secure from outside influence. More than ever before, connected devices have been woven into society as an integral part of how people communicate and access services essential to their well-being. Data collected from these devices can detail highly specific information about a person or business which can be exploited by bad actors for their personal gain. Cybersecurity Awareness Month aims to shed light on these security vulnerabilities, while offering guidance surrounding simple security measures to limit the susceptibility of threats for commonly used devices.

This year, the Cybersecurity Awareness Month’s main weekly focus areas will revolve around:

  • Understanding and following general security hygiene for connected devices and home networks

  • The importance of connected devices security for remote workers

  • How connected devices play a pivotal role in the future of healthcare; and

  • The overall future of connected devices for consumers, professionals and the public domain

If everyone does their part—implementing stronger security practices, raising community awareness, educating vulnerable audiences or training employees—our interconnected world will be safer and more resilient for everyone.

PSA and USAV will be releasing information on an interactive campaign which will allow their members to assess their current cybersecurity status and explore areas to expand their own company's protection. One participating member will be randomly selected to win a grand prize package valued at over $1500 USD.

Now in its 17th year, Cybersecurity Awareness Month continues to build momentum and impact with the ultimate goal of providing everyone with the information they need to stay safer and more secure online. USAV is proud to support this far-reaching online safety awareness and education initiative which is co-led by the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA) of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

“Cybersecurity is important to the success of all businesses and organizations. NCSA is proud to have such a strong and active community helping to encourage proactive behavior and prioritize cybersecurity in their organizations,” said Kelvin Coleman, Executive Director, NCSA.

PSA/USAV Announces Corporate Social Responsibility Program

PSA-News-Release-Header.png

PSA/USAV today announced the launch of its corporate social responsibility program to better its community as well as the low-voltage systems integration industry as a whole.

WESTMINSTER, Colo. – August 13, 2020  PSA, the world’s largest systems integrator consortium, today announced the launch of its corporate social responsibility program to better its community as well as the low-voltage systems integration industry as a whole. PSA is focused on philanthropic giving, volunteerism and employee wellness, as well as developing the next generation leaders in the industry.

“Our employees have been the driving force in getting PSA involved in supporting our communities. I’m constantly impressed by their willingness to jump in and help,” said Bill Bozeman, CEO of PSA. “Just during COVID-19 we have written letters to senior citizens who have been isolated from their families and friends, as well as funded a donation to youth aging out of the foster system. We are proud and honored to have such service-minded employees at PSA and USAV.”

PSA established a community service committee that regularly comes up with initiatives for employees to support. A key focus for charitable giving is organizations with causes that impact PSA employees, their families or PSA members and owners.

Likewise, at its annual conference, TEC presented by PSA, PSA offers a chance for the industry to get involved in a charitable project by partnering with Mission 500 to support the host-city community. From building hygiene kits to stuffing backpacks with school supplies, TEC attendees can get in on the action while visiting the exhibit hall.

In addition to its existing scholarship, PSA is currently exploring how it can promote diversity within the security industry through internships and additional scholarships. PSA plans to launch this part of its corporate social responsibility program in 2021.

“One of the largest challenges our industry faces, is developing and retaining next generation talent,” said Ric McCullough, president of PSA. “This is why we developed our scholarship program and aim to expand it even further. PSA Announces Partnership with Infrared Cameras Inc.

PSA-News-Release-Header.png

WESTMINSTER, CO – June 29, 2020 – PSA (www.psasecurity.com), the world’s largest consortium of professional systems integrators, today announced the addition of Infrared Cameras Inc.(ICI) to its network. ICI is an innovator in the infrared products space with a line of thermal cameras as well as multi-spectral infrared cameras and complete package systems.

“COVID-19 forced an acceleration in demand for thermal devices,” said Bill Bozeman, PSA’s CEO. “PSA has been diligent in ensuring it selects top notch partners and products for our integrators to consider.”

ICI cameras can be set up at entry points in all types of businesses to screen temperatures in less than two seconds. These temperature screenings are important as they allow users to identify anyone with an elevated temperature who might be potentially ill. This can prevent an illness like COVID-19 from spreading in workplaces and public spaces.

“ICI is looking forward to a long and prosperous partnership with PSA,” said Carl Schultz, director of channel sales for ICI. “We're thrilled to have the opportunity to help system integrators incorporate thermal imaging cameras into their platforms for safe, accurate, and immediate elevated body temperature screening. This is a critical aspect of the world's new normal, and we're proud to help businesses worldwide reopen in one of the safest and most health-conscious manners possible.”

The technology provided by ICI is currently being used in businesses such as airports, casinos, sports arenas, hospitals, factories and more. Its cameras are highly accurate to within a fraction (0.1 to 0.3 Celsius) of one degree Celsius and have had FDA clearance on temperature screeners since 2008.

ICI is veteran owned and has been in business since 1995. For more information about ICI or other offerings from PSA’s trusted partners, visit: https://www.psasecurity.com/products/vendors.

USAV Members can purchase ICI products by becoming a PSA member. To find out how to become a member, please contact Diana Hanna (dhanna@psasecurity.com).

WESTMINSTER, CO –  June 22, 2020USAV, a division of PSA, today announced the release of its International Partner Program (IPP), expanding its  global presence with integrators and vendors. USAV aims to provide a wider network of resources and opportunities to its members through partnerships that span worldwide, supporting the member’s positions as leading technology solutions providers in the markets they serve.

“I am pleased to launch our international partnering program established with the help of our members and partners,” said Chris Salazar-Mangrum, VP of USAV. “This program will enable our international and domestic integrators to deploy projects anywhere in the world.  It will provide our members with strategic dimensions and create additional opportunities with trusted global integrators.”
